Investigation of Antibiotics Residues in Imported and Locally Produced Red Meat in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman

Background: Antibiotics are heavily used for animal treatment, growth enhancer and protection from disease. The residues of antibiotics related to antibiotic resistance which is the biggest threats global health, food security development today. aim this study was investigate presence in available red meat Sultanate Oman. Methods: extraction done using QuEChERS method by Aglient 11 standards were used. extract analyzed 6460 LC-MS/MS. Result: results showed that investigated Omani goat muscle liver free as latter they blank sample. All Somali samples didn’t contain Tetracycline, Amoxicillin, Ceftiofur, Oxacillin, Deoxytetracline, Tylosin Phenoxymethylpenicillin. Only two had Tilmicosin with value 18-32.2 µl/kg lower than maxiumam residual limit (MRL). Around 48% total somali contained Oxytetracycline (OXY) Chlorotetracycline (CTC) MRL. However, values CTC OXY exceeding Ciprofloxacin Enrofloxacine detected 9 finding unsafe source supply Oman detection meat.
